New, on-set pics have emerged from the new J.J Abrams’ Star Trek sequel which started shooting recently.

The photos show Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana back in action as Spock and Uhura (respectively, obviously) and none other than rising Brit-star Benedict Cumberbatch in what TotalFilm point out to be, an apparently “calculating, hyperintelligent baddie”.

This comes from Cumberbatch apparently sporting a “Starfleet” uniform in the snaps.
Intriguing.

We can look forward to seeing Star Trek 2 on these shores c. mid-May next year.
