Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, a biopic of the famous American president (with no vampires in sight), has been a project close to the director's heart since 2001. Production finally began in 2011, with Daniel Day-Lewis (replacing the previously cast Liam Neeson) in the lead role. It entered post-production at the start of the year, and now the much anticipated film has been given a release date of November 16th of this year in America, preceded by a limited release the week before. The movie is expected to hit Europe in 24th of January 2013.
The film is based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's book A Team Of Rivals, and will focus on last few months of Lincoln's life, the abolition of slavery, and the end of the American Civil War. Starring alongside Day-Lewis are Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Jackie Earle Haley.
