Anyone who has seen The Amazing Spider-Man will know that the movie was been set up for a sequel, rumours point to it being planned before the first movie was even released. Now we have official confirmation, with a release date set for May 2nd 2014. Andrew Garfield is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker, and Emma Stone is in talks to return as Gwen Stacy. Also returning is director Marc Webb, even after numerous stories of how Columbia Pictures were not happy with the direction the movie was taking, and looking to replace him as director. But stories they seem to be, and with the first movie banking over $750 million worldwide, Webb is firmly in place to continue his vision of every body's friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. In 3D (groan).
Production is expected to start in early 2013.
