Is Wolverine 3 Getting An R Rating?

We all knew the success of Deadpool could see a change in the superhero movie landscape, the movie’s R-Rating possibly opening the door to a glut of similarly rated comic book movies. We’ve already gotten a taste of what the future may hold with word that the long in development X-Force might be dusted off with its eye on the Rated-R market, and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has piped up that the big screen reboot of his character is looking at a ‘hard R’. Now, Fox may be looking at adding a harder edge to another superhero, with this picture from Reddit user RayChaos, taken at the studio’s Toy Fair presentation, suggesting that Hugh Jackman’s final turn as Wolverine will be getting an R-Rating.

Now, this isn’t the fast healing mutant’s first brush with a rating that keeps the kids out, The Wolverine Blu-Ray came packaged with an alternate, unrated cut that saw Wolvie pop his claws in increasingly violent ways, but Deadpool has certainly paved the way for Jackman to take his bow in a big screen, R Rated adventure. Of course, it’s all up in the air at this point, and it’s very possible director James Mangold will shoot both R and PG-13 rated (16 and and 12A for this on this side on the pond) versions while Fox debate what way to go. What say you? Would you like to see Wolverine embrace is uber violent ways in his final instalment? Sound off in the comments below.
