James Cameron has certainly been one of the huge driving forces behind 3D with Avatar setting the bar incredibly high and now someone who has worked closely with on The Hobbit is Peter Jackson and of course 48 FPS. Cameron goes onto say ““If there is acceptance of 48, then that will pave the way for Avatar [sequels] to take advantage of it. We charged out ahead on 3D with Avatar, now Peter’s doing it with The Hobbit. It takes that kind of bold move to make change.”
I guess the big thing with 48 FPS is how many cinemas have the technology or more importantly the will (and cash) to install and upgrade the system. And while I’m a huge fan of Cameron and regularly get my geek on with technology, is 48 FPS what audiences want? There’s alot riding on The Hobbit, and not just for Peter Jackson!
