Director Ben Wheatley, responsible for the fantastic Kill List and this years black comedy Sightseers, is on his way back tot he big screen with the low budget, A Field In England. Released through Film4.0, the digital arm of production company Film4, the low budget film follows a group of deserters on the search for gold during the British Civil War, and stars well known British t.v. stars Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh), Reece Shearsmith (The League Of Gentlemen), and Michael Smiley (who will forever be Tyres from Spaced to me).
The first poster for the film has hit, and it is stunning and wonderfully old school, right down to the old AA rating and the roman numeral release date. Wheatley has really impressed me with his recent run of films, so I really looking forward to this one.
The film will be released in 2013. No concret release date has been given as of yet.
