Originally to be released this Summer, G.I. Joe: Retaliation was put back to March next year five weeks before it's opening. The reason given was to spend time converting the movie to 3D. I understand most studios insistence on releasing movies 3D, the increased ticket price does maximise sales, but changing your mind at such short notice does seem a bit excessive. Rumours abounded that test screenings highlighted the audiences responded well to Channing Tatum's Duke (who has experienced quite a rise in star power recently), who only had a few minutes screen time, forcing extensive reshoots to bulk up his role. Turns out both case turned out to be true, with the release of a new international poster. It's pretty much the same as the final poster for the film, with the major difference being Tatum receiving prominent placing alongside the movies' main stars Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.
