The Biggest And Best Star Wars Bloopers!

Movies are a wonderful thing, and rarely does one capture the magic they offer as well as Star Wars does. A genuine pop culture icon for nearly 40 years now, it's legion of fans have seen the movies countless times, and along the way uncovered some hidden gems, when things didn't quite go as planned!

We've put together a collection of bloopers from the six movies that we have so far, so you can sit back and have a laugh while you take a lunch break between episodes V and VI.

Everyone knows about the famous Stormtrooper hitting-his-head mistake that fans have come to love, but there's a whole host of other mistakes and bloopers from filming that have been captured on camera.

Some of the mistakes and slip-ups are down to actors, some down to the smaller budget that the original trilogy was operating with...all of them are hilarious. Here's a run down of the outtakes from the original trilogy.

With the advent of DVD's in the years since Episode VI, the newer trilogy was privy to something Lucas' original films weren't...DVD extras. With these, the most logical and popular inclusion was a blooper reel and fans were treated to one for each of the movies since Return Of The Jedi.

Most of the fails from The Phantom Menace are to do with prop malfunctions, and even the universally hated Jar-Jar manages to have a giggle at a C-3PO pratfall. The CGI character has a few "bloopers" himself, and we can definitively say that on further re-watches he absolutely does not become less irritating. The single biggest blooper of the Star Wars universe is not having Obi-Wan find a reason to lightsaber him in half.

Attack Of The Clones bloopers showcased just how much fun the actors were having on set by now and also just how much of the production had moved over to blue screen for CGI to be added. Whatever your thoughts on the movie, I think we can all agree that ANY film would benefit from a heavily armoured bounty hunter tap dancing in the rain!!

The last and best of the newer trilogy, Revenge Of The Sith was no different to the others in that we got a peak behind the scenes at some of the challenges that the cast had to overcome when putting together the movies. This time we get a look at George Lucas' own sense of humour and the chemistry that McGregor, Portman and Sam Jackson all shared.

Finally, we have this awesome piece of footage that was only discovered some 36 years after the first movie came out. To the delight of fans, some rare archived video made its way to the public light in 2013, with some extraordinary glimpses into the making of the original movie that hadn't been seen by movie fans previous to this.

So there you have it. Even greatness had a few missteps along the way. Its a bit of fun to see the cast all laughing and joking their way through what was undoubtedly a fun movie to film. How many of them knew at the beginning the impact it would have? Probably very few, but at least they all had a laugh and enjoyed themselves while putting it together. After all, no production is perfect.
